Interpreting live poll results carefully

A live result is evidence about the people who responded in that moment. It is a starting point for discussion, not automatically a complete view of the group.
Read the result in context
Consider the question, response rate, wording and setting before drawing a conclusion.
Look beyond the percentage
Ask how many people responded and whether the available options reflected the issue fairly. A percentage without its context can be misleading.
Use the result to guide the next question
Invite the group to explain surprising patterns, explore differences and decide what needs attention next.
